6 Affordable Body Wash To Try

Listed are locally available and affordable body wash we found on the market today.

Body wash is more moisturizing than a bar soap. Most people prefer using a body wash because it is more hygienic than the traditional bar soap. Imagine a bar of soap in a public toilet used by many (germs, bacteria anyone? just gross right?)

When looking for and deciding on what to purchase, formulations may vary from brand to brand so try to find out which one suits your needs best. Be it for moisturizing, for exfoliating, for whitening, or for its fragrance there are so many to choose from, including budget friendly ones.

Take your pick from our list:

The Wonders of the Brown Rice Tea

Highlanders Brown Rice Tea

I just discovered a great, all natural remedy for the ailments that are bothering me lately.

I discovered this product through my mother by accident, I was at her house when I had constipation and I was complaining about it, she started looking if she still has some tea and this is what she gave me. She said try this although she herself haven't tried it yet coz it was also given to her by my aunt.  At first I was hesitant to drink it coz I am not really fond of tea coz of its bitter after taste but surprisingly when I took my first sip I was surprised to find out there was no after taste and I like the smell of this tea parang roasted rice na masarap kainin.

Since I had a problem sleeping at night and I always urinate at night.  Was really happy to note that I had a good night sleep and surprised that I didn't even woke up in the middle of the night to urinate, I hate it when I urinate at night coz I find it hard to go back to sleep after I urinate.

I am not an avid fan of tea coz I find it bitter for my taste but with the Highlanders Brown Rice Tea there is no bitter after taste.

As you can see in my photo of the product the price tag is Php143.75 for 5 bags of tea.  It is a bit pricey but it is worth it.  Although sometimes what I do is reuse the tea bag for 2 more uses.

Please note that this is not a paid reviewed.  I personally bought this product and would just like to share my views hence the product review.

For the manufacturer/distributor of Higlanders Brown Rice Tea, I would be more than happy if I could get a couple of tea (wink wink)

Gadgets for Mom : Gift Ideas for a Wanna Be Techie Mom

As a mother I am also an avid techie user, I might not be as techie as my daughters but I can catch up, hmmm after a few lessons :)

My Gadgets Wishlists (and maybe your moms' wishlist also)

1) Camera - Although DSLR takes beautiful photos, all I want is a handy digital camera.  A point and shoot digital camera is fine for me.   I don't like carrying a bulky and heavy DSLR, a handy and light weight one will do for me.  I need this for my blogging work and to take photos of products for my online store.  This is the perfect gift for mommies who love taking pictures but doesn't want to be bothered carrying a heavy one on her bag.

Specifications:
16.1 Megapixels
5x Optical Zoom Lens, 25mm Wide Angle
2.7" TFT LCD screen
Smart Auto
Picture-in-Picture
Live Panorama
Continous Shot

Out of so many digital cameras below Php4,000 at Lazada.com.ph I want this Samsung beauty.  I like the clean line design of this Samsung ES95 Digital Camera and for Php3,899 it is a good buy.

2) Kindle Paperwhite

I love reading! My iphone has hundreds of books I've downloaded and it's convenient than carrying a couple of books when you are out of the house or when travelling, but it can be strenuous to the eyes most of the time.  If your mom is also a book lover, she would surely love an e-reader. It is light, small and fits in any bag without the heavy weight of an actual book.  This is a perfect gift for the bookworm mommies.

3) New Phone - Samsung or Iphone5? Any of the two will do :) I am an avid smartphone user, aside of course for its main function of communication (calls/sms) it's where I play games, read ebooks, my alarm clock, take pictures or videos, take notes when I don't have a pen and paper nearby and so many things a smartphone can do.  If your mom is also an avid smartphone user, any of these phones are perfect for her!

Human Nature Sunflower Oil : Going Natural

Do you believe in miracles? How about 23 in a single bottle?

This is a long overdue review.  Was curious about Human Nature Sunflower Oil as I heard a lot of good reviews about this natural beauty saver (?) saves a lot of money for us. Started using Human Nature Sunflower Oil last year, saw a lot of good reviews about this product.  Curiosity overcame me and I ordered one thru their online store.

What it claims:

It’s so effective and so versatile, the uses are endless! What kind of miracles, you ask? Well for starters it…

1. Helps soften and lighten underarms
2. Helps lighten dark spots & pimple marks
3. Under eye moisturizer
4. Helps prevent & diminish the appearance of stretch marks
5. Helps lighten dark under eye circles
6. Softens feet soles, knees & elbows
7. Removes stubborn makeup
8. Overall body moisturizer
9. Helps diminish fine lines around the eyes
10. Helps soften cuticles and dry skin
11. Makes skin glow and helps keep it youthful
12. Helps relax tired, puffy eyes
13. Helps relieve itch & redness caused by insect bites
14. Nourishes & conditions eyelashes
15. Helps lighten dark lips
16. Adds shine to dull hair
17. Helps ease dry & itchy scalp
18. Helps improve skin condition after sunburn
19. Smoothens dry, rough skin from shaving
20. Helps calm skin & ease rashes
21. Helps relieve symptoms of skin infections
22. Helps hydrate dry patches on face
23. Helps lighten lesions and scars

My daughters and I uses this product as:

1. make up remover - rather than buy another product for the same purpose, I'd rather use this as this is also effective as a make up remover.

2. facial moisturizer - my 16 year old has a sensitive skin even a soap is harsh on her face, she only uses this oil and nothing more. Many noticed her skin looks koreana or was always asked if she uses bb cream. No. This is her only simple nightly regimen.

3. underarm lightener - it lightens my dark underarms, I swear. period.

4. Insect bites/rashes remover - whenever we noticed an insect bites (reddish in color) we usually apply this and massage. Immediately noticed the redness will disappear in 1 to 2 days.

5. Hair oil/scalp massage - before going to bed, I apply and massage this oil on my scalp. It makes my hair shiny as if I just had a hot oil.

We have this in both sizes the 100ml and 50ml (for travelling)
The 100ml size usually lasts us(three of us using it) for 2-3months.

For a budget conscious mom, this is a great buy. As it is affordable it is also effective with many uses. It truly is a miracle product.

Note: This is not a paid advertisement. This review was done based on my personal experience on using this product. It may not have the same effect on others as it did on me or my family who also uses this product.

Face Toner for the Mature Skin : Eskinol Ageless Toner

Eskinol Ageless Toner

I remember way back my college days that almost all the girls I knew have Eskinol product on their daily beauty regiment.  I remember after washing my face and applying Eskinol and seeing the cotton with so much dirt from my face, I feel sooo clean.  And now that I am older the appropriate toner for me is Eskinol Ageless Toner.

What it promises to do:
- helps minimize pores
- helps firm skin
- reduce fine lines

How to use:
Moisten a piece of cotton with Eskinol Ageless Toner and apply on face and neck.  Use at least twice a day.

Tea Tree Mud Mask

Fab Find! Tea Tree Mud Mask with natural tea tree and peppermint oils.

I bought this at Watsons SM City Cebu, I forgot how much this cost but I am definitely sure that I got this for less than Php100.

What it claims:

Superdrug Tea Tree and Peppermint Mud Mask is specially formulated to deeply cleanse and purify pores, leaving skin feeling fresh and clean.

Tea Tree originates from Australia.  It is a natural antibacterial agent, known for its antiseptic healing properties.

Peppermint oil is renowned for its therapeutic effect on skin disorders and for its cooling sensation.

How to use:
Apply evenly to clean skin with fingertips avoiding the eye and lip area.  Leave to dry for 10 minutes, then rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

I feel a tingling sensation while waiting for the mask to dry on my face, maybe because of the peppermint oil? but I love it! I feel my face tightened right after rinsing it off and I noticed my pores looks smaller, it minimized the appearance of my large pores.

Good for DIY treat yourself at home for a cheap price.  Thumbs up!

Watsons Body Lotion with Vitamin E extract

Fab Find! Watsons Brightening Body Lotion

I was at Watsons SM City Cebu with my daughter J.  One of our bonding moments is finding less expensive finds to try.  From clothes, accessories to make ups, shoes and bags.  I instill in them the value of still looking good but not splurging so much.

Since we've run out of lotion at home, I wanna try this body lotion.  One thing that made me buy this is the price.  At Php99 it's a steal! with its size of 550ml it would last at least a month.  It doesn't leave a greasy feeling when I applied it and it smells good.  So I would say it is a fab find!  Thumbs up!

Affordable BB Cream

Fab Find! Gluta & Placenta BB Cream by Glorious Skin

Went to Watsons at SM City Cebu and ended up buying a couple of things.  I was checking out which BB creams was the cheapest at Watsons and was thrilled to find out Gluta & Placenta BB Cream was on sale at Php78, what a steal!

Let me get back to you on the product review as soon as I started using it for a couple of days.

A Celebration of Cebu's Finest : UNA at SM City Cebu

Spotted at the Northwing of SM City Cebu.

UNA, it is the first car in the world manufactured using indigenous materials exclusive to Cebu patterned from a 1959 Porsche 356.

Designed and manufactured by Clayton Tugonon.

The exterior is purely made from coconut flower's stalk and rattan strips.  The dashboard comes from a blend of two-toned shells while the steering wheel and shift knob are made from Shagreen.

It was one of the highlights at the 2011 Fame Exhibit in Manila to showcase what Cebu can do.

Sinulog : Grandest Festival in the Country

The Sinulog is an annual festival held on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City, Philippines.  This year, the grand parade will be held on January 15, 2012.  The festival honors the child Jesus, known as the Santo Niño, patron of the city of Cebu. It is a dance ritual that commemorates the Filipino people's pagan past and their acceptance of Christianity.

The festival features a street parade with participants in bright-colored costumes dancing to the rhythm of drums, trumpets, and native gongs. Smaller versions of the festival are held in various parts of the province, also to celebrate and honor the Santo Niño. There is also a "Sinulog sa Kabataan", performed by the youths of Cebu a week before the grand parade.

Recently, the festival has been promoted as a tourist attraction, with a contest featuring contingents from various parts of the country. The Sinulog Contest is usually held in the Cebu City Sports Complex.

01 December 2011

Bonifacio Day, Foodcourt, etc.

Today commemorates the birth of national hero Andrés Bonifacio on November 30, 1863.  A holiday, no school for my girls today, and that means I can sleep in late.  Had our brunch of chicken adobo.  And I have work to do online so I asked the girls to clean up after lunch and do a little laundry, which they all did (thank you girls!)

S was getting restless in the afternoon, she wants to go out and buy another anime video, she likes anime, manga or whatever that is called.  J was also getting bored of watching TV.  And they keep on asking if we could go to the korean store, but I really have work to do and my client might not pay me anymore if I don't meet my deadline. So I have to beg off.  The two girls are sulking coz they are bored and can't use the computer coz I am using it.

By late afternoon, I was thinking of what to prepare for dinner but I was feeling too lazy to cook so we just headed out to the nearest mall.  For just 250pesos we had our full dinner at the foodcourt of the mall.

30 November 2011

Korean Restaurant : Hwang Kung

Texted my daughter J to come home early from school today.  I was planning to go out for dinner, just the three of us.

As it was still too early for dinner, we just hit the mall and window shopped.  Ended up buying some toiletries and S who is just 14 keep on pointing the yellow and green nail polish from Caronia.  J has already the yellow one so we just bought the green nail polish.  They are not allowed to wear nail colors in school so they just wear them during weekends. (Yes, I let them be kikay..that's the fun of having girls).

We finally went to a korean restaurant in Lahug, Hwang Kung at the side of Citi Church across IT park where I requested for a private room which is good for 4 persons only.  It was a delicious and inexpensive meal as I only paid 500pesos for our whole meal.  Wherein I only paid for the 2 orders of pork belly which we cooked on the table, the side dishes were refillable/unlimited which consist of kimchi, lettuce, bean sprout, spinach, and others (sorry forgot the names of those other dishes) oh there's also a salad.  We just asked for water, which was also free (cheapskate! :) yes).  Then at the end of the meal, we asked for a serving of hot coffee in which J had a cold one which is also yummy.  I was soooooooo full, I grew quite at the end of the meal because I was already feeling sleepy.
